Filming - 14/03/16

Yesterday my group and I filmed our last performance shots for our music video. We contrasted the shots and decided to use darker projections so at the bridge in the song there was different scenery for the performance. The location that we used for our last filming was the big drama room in our school. We decided to use this room because it has all black walls meaning there was enough space for us to set up our equipment which we needed to film. For this shoot, we decided to use two cameras so we could use the dolly and film our performer on different angles.

Editing process

When my group and I were filming we were editing along the way and kept editing if we had filmed more as we would have more footage. On Monday, we showed some of our music video to our class mates and they had given us their feedback. Most people in the class thought that some of the narrative shots and performance shots looked too similar and that we should start the music video with narrative shots so our audience understands the concept of the narrative. After receiving this feedback, my group and I played around with the colouring of our performance shots so there was a difference in our narrative and performance shots.

Shooting - 14/03/16

On Monday 14th March, as a group we are going to be filming more performance shots but this time in a different setting. Before we filmed all the performance shots in quite a light environment whereas this time our setting will be a darker room. We want to film this so our performance shots don't look all the same and we have a bit of variety in our music video.

We were going to film projections but against a black back drop. Some of the projections we were thinking of using were of lightning or the stars. Some examples are below:

Costume

When filming both the narrative and performance shots we had different costumes to distinguish the two scenes.

When we were filming the performance shots, we had our group member Sophie bring a white top, white shorts, baby blue jeans and a yellow cami top. We wanted to mix up the outfits that she wore for the performance shots as we didn't want the shots to all look the same. For the narrative parts of our music video, Sophie wore a plain white dress and a veil as she was the bride and our other group member Paru wore a plain white dress and a clutch bag as she was the other bride. Emily and I both wore two long plain black dresses as we were the bridesmaids.

For our last shoot, we decided to have a darker looking costume. We decided for our group member to wear a long grey top with black lace up heels. We decided for our group member to wear these type of shoes because we wanted her feet moving around so we could include this towards the end of our music video.

Some pictures of the various costumes are below:

Makeup

For most our shoots for our music video, the makeup wasn't heavily done because we wanted to go for a more light hearted look but when we changed the scenery for our performance shots, we decided that we wanted to go for a different look for the makeup. As these performance shots were darker, we decided to make the make up darker by using a darker lipstick and darker eyeshadow with some gold glitter.

Fourth shooting

As I was unable to attend the first filming day, we had to film some of the narrative part that I had to be in. The scenes that we were filmed were the Bridesmaids shots which included Emily and I. During the day, we were all having a say in how the shots should be filmed and it was mostly Paru and Emily filming throughout the day.

For some of the shots we were in one of the rooms in Sophies' house and then we filmed outside so we could include these shots in our narrative. The shots that we filmed in Sophies' house are what we are going to include in our chorus as performance shots whereas the shots we filmed outside are going to be apart of our narrative. This was our last filming day so now that we have all of our footage, we are going to use all the time we have to edit our music video. We will also screen it to our class mates to hear their feedback and make any changes if necessary.

Props

This weekend we will be filming the final part of our narrative and as a prop we will be using a plane ticket as it is a vital part in our narrative. The plane ticket will show our audience that they are going on their honeymoon. This prop was made by one of our group members, Emily and we will use it in our filming.

Third shooting- 01/02/16

Today we shot most our projections that we are going to use in our music video during the chorus. As a group we all thought that it went better this time as our actress was very comfortable in front of the camera. After this day, we knew that we aren't going to need anymore projections which meant we had time to edit this footage into our music video.

Below are some of the pictures from when we edited the projections as a group:

Filming - 25/01/16

Tomorrow my group and I are going to be filming parts of our music video. We will be filming the projections in our music video tomorrow. For the equipment we used a white back drop which can be seen below:

We also used a Canon camera and a tripod to film these parts in our music video. Regarding setting, this part of our music video was filmed at one of our group members house as Paru had access to the white back drop. On this particular day we were filming our performance shots and decided to film one long take of Sophie singing the song so we are able to edit this footage into our final cut of our music video.
